WEST CHESTER — Police arrested a 37-year-old Thorndale woman after she allegedly stole $330,000 from an elderly woman.

The West Chester Police Department opened an investigation back in June into the theft of a large amount of money from the victim. The 62-year-old victim reportedly paid her caretaker, Bonnie Sanchez, money for eight years, police said.

Sanchez reportedly misled the victim to believe she owed the money for various bills, police said. The investigation revealed Sanchez fraudulently took money from the woman, according to police.

Police charged Sanchez with multiple counts of receiving stolen property and theft by deception.

The following information was compiled from state and local police reports.

Tredyffrin police arrested Cotty Lukk, 20, of Chadds Ford and Jeffrey Nugent, 21, of Coatesville, for alleged possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 1:26 p.m. March 11 on Route 202 near Valley Forge Road.

Paintball gear and two cell phones were reported stolen at 8:44 p.m. March 13 from a car parked at the Five Guys Burgers parking lot in the 200 block of East Swedesford Road, police said.

West Goshen police arrested Gilberto Chavez-Aviles, 36, of West Chester, after he reportedly transferred price stickers on meat packages at 12:16 p.m. March 13 at the Shop Rite in the 1100 block of West Chester Pike.

Chavez-Aviles also reportedly provided false identification to law enforcement and had an active arrest warrant, police said.
