Hobby-X, taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg from 4 to 7 March, is South Africa’s leading exhibition of materials, equipment and supplies used for a wide variety of hobbies and crafts. Now into its 13th year, the expo will feature about 250 exhibitors.
Today, Hobby-X attracts not only visitors from across South Africa, but also from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritius, Swaziland, and from as far afield as the United Kingdom, Europe, and the USA.
Workshops
The 2010 version of Hobby-X will offer a variety of tempting workshops. They include learning how to make and decorate boxes, how to make chain maille bracelets, making unusual and amazing clocks, using the Creative Memories Cutting System, embroidery, handmade journals, Millefiori mosaics, pewter art, travel satchels, and creating metal clay art pieces in silver or copper.
Bookings for the workshops may be made on the Hobby-X website.
The exhibition also offers excellent opportunities for buyers from businesses. The first day of the expo is an exclusive trade day, with buyers being admitted by invitation only, or by the presentation of an adequate business identification.
