How to Win in Pump Paintball Playing
by Bob Pascal on Feb.08, 2010, under Paintball
Paintball has come a long way from its conception. Much has evolved from its equipment to its rules. Because of so much development since 1970’s, paintball players tend to forget how it all started and to discriminate people who play paintball like those of the old days. Paintball of the old days would mean playing pump paintball. Unlike, the contemporary paintball game, which uses automatic paintball markers, pump paintball usually uses stock class paintball markers.
One of the disadvantages of using pump markers is that there is a necessity to use two hands for the equipment to work. Thus, a pump paintball player needs to avoid certain situations where he would not be able to utilize his two hands. Some of this situation is when he is in a consistent crawling position. Although it is not impossible to use pump markers in a crawling position, it is still advisable to avoid this certain situation because it would be difficult for the paintball player to maintain a steady rate of fire. It is also important to remember that pump markers does not automatically load a paintball after triggering it. It would be a good habit to re-cock the gun instantly after firing because if a player is caught one handed, he is still prepared to shoot to his opponent. Other points to remember in playing pump paintball are to be erratic enough to be able to look for opportunities to fire at the opponent and to take time to move around because staying in a place would make a player very easy bait.
Developing the players’ skills is important in playing paintball and it would be greatly affected by the type of gun he uses. Pump paintball markers would be most suitable in preparing the paintball player for the game because with the use of pump paintball markers, a player will most likely depend on his own assets than on the gun. It is more difficult to develop a skill than to upgrade a gun. In cultivating one’s skill, processes are involved and it does not happen overnight. On the other hand, a paintball gun can be upgraded with a snap of a finger as long as you got the cash.
A pump paintball marker fundamentally works by using one or two CO2 12g cartridges. CO2 or carbon dioxide is used to boost the gun. Sometimes, it is also used for mines and grenades. A load of CO2 would already last long enough to discharge an opponent twice. This means that a player should bring some CO2 during the game.
Pump paintball markers are also cheaper than any other types of guns. Because of its inexpensiveness, it is more practical to use. Rather than using expensive guns, it is more proficient to use something that could help you become a good paintball player in a very reasonable price.
The bottom line here is that pump paintball play is fun and challenging and anyone who plays with pump markers are not afraid to take the challenge. Pump playing should not be stereotyped in any way because it is essentially the same as any paintball game only that it is more fun.

Essential Weapons and Gadgets for a Paintball Sniper
by Peter Jackson on Feb.04, 2010, under Paintball
A paintball game would not be that fun if the paintball sniper player is absent. So here are some facts about the one of the most exciting position in the paintball field.
A paintball sniper really needs a good set of sniper guns. To be an effective sniper, he must be able kill the target in just one shot, so that the opponent will not discover its hiding spot. To accomplish this, he needs to have the important equipment that a paintball sniper uses, the paintball sniper gun. Though all of the paintball guns have the same distance range, it is still possible to do sniping with proper attachments to the gun.
The paintball sniper needs to have the extra skill that is developed from experience and trainings that is unique from the other members of the team. He also needs to know the battle field by heart, every corner of it, so that during the playing time, he can situate himself purposely, and know where the opposing team might perform their tactics. He also needs to have the essential equipments to make his role productive during the play.
Camouflaging is another point that you have to consider. But you also have to consider the playing field that you will be playing into. When playing through bushes and greens, wearing black and green paintball suit will help you blend with the environment, which will help you in your silent attacks. Try not to dress a heavyweight suit that will make you uneasy all throughout the game time.
The forward sniper, at the beginning of the game heads forward right away and the other members follow. He then positions himself to camouflage with the environment and waits patiently to do an action. The first key to be an effective forward sniper is the ability to hide himself to perfectly execute a sniper action. He must be tolerant and undisturbed by the presence of opponents rushing at his position, but a good cover up will enable the enemy not to spot him. He must then fire a shot when the opponent pass him by, and shoot it at the back before it can see him. He must also help his team to avoid being shot once he sees that the opponent is about to attack. One of the most important roles of the forward sniper is shooting the most skilled opponent in a short time with a one-shot kill. With this, his team will be able to turn down the rest of the opponent with ease.
In conclusion, a paintball sniper must have a sharp eye to spot the opponent, and take a single shot to pin down the enemy. They must feel that they are one with the environment and take its advantage.

Keep Fog From Ruining Paintball Games With a Thermal Lens
by Ryan Gert on Feb.02, 2010, under Paintball
Lets face it; if you cant see your opponent in a game of paintball, you have little chance of hitting them. Paintball relies heavily on your ability to spot your opponent.
A paintball mask is essential in the game of paintball. You can’t play without it. It’s there to protect your face and eyes from being potentially damaged.
Single pane lenses dont do the job. Many masks come with a single pane lens. It may the mask has fog protection, but that may be no more than a fog spray put on the lens. After a couple of games, the fog spray will wear off and youll have a fogged up mask.
Paintball gets blood pumping, which will cause your body to generate heat. Without a thermal lens, your mask is certain to fog up.
It is amazingly hard to play paintball effectively with a fogged up paintball lens. You become about as effective as if you were playing with your eyes closed.
There are two lenses that trap air in between them that prevent fog from building up on the lens. A thermal lens will keep fog from fouling your paintball games.
Thermal lenses are available for most paintball masks, so whatever mask you have, you should be able to find a thermal lens for it. They are more expensive than single pane lenses, but they are definitely worth it!
You won’t be able to step up to the next level of play if you continue to play with fog ruining your view. A thermal lens is a wonderful investment. If you want to stay in the game longer without fog getting in your way, pick up a thermal lens, you wont be sorry!

Key Point To Consider When Purchasing A Paintball Mask
by Donald Stevens on Jan.30, 2010, under Paintball
When you play paintball, you would like to protect your face. And by wearing a paintball mask, you can do exactly just that.
One of the most important protective gears in playing paintball is a paintball mask. It helps you keep the paintball markers that fly up to 300 feet per second and the paint off your face. Its prices range from $20 to $100. Accessories like headbands or visors to provide shade from the sun may be attached to it.
A paintball mask basically protects your face from paintball markers. It also prevents paint from getting in your eyes, nose, ears or mouth. Paint in a paintball marker is toxic and must not be ingested. It also prevents paintball markers from hitting any sensitive part of your face like your nose or your eyes or any part that can be irritated by the paint.
Head injuries from falling or tripping during a game are also prevented by a paintball mask. A paintball mask should be equipped with padding that gives you comfort and a snug fit on your head. The foam must shape itself on your face but return to its original form when the mask is taken off. It should also be firmly attached to the plastic of the mask.
The straps must be adequate for you to loosen or tighten them without stretching the traps out too much. You must be able to fully look down when wearing a mask. Your chest and mouth guard must not touch when looking down.
A good paintball mask must be equipped with a thermal or anti-fog lens. This consists of two lenses with a space filled with air acting as a barrier between the temperature near your face and the temperature outside the mask. This prevents the moisture on your face from condensing on your lens.
There are also fans that help prevent fogging on your lens on your paintball mask. They are installed on top your lens (but not all masks are fan-ready, so to speak). They help moisture on your face evaporate. These require batteries to operate. They can make considerable noise and are not very durable. They are also expensive.
Cleaning your paintball mask is important. First, take out most of the paint by running a rag over the mask. You can spray water on the paint to loosen it a little. Chemicals and lens cleaners can damage your paintball mask. So it is not advisable to use them.
Be meticulous and clean out those little spaces in your masks. You can remove the lens on your paintball mask and clean its edges too. This will stop the paint from building up in those hard to reach places and trickling down on you or your lens, spoiling your vision during the game. Microfiber cloth is a good way to take the excess oil off the lens of your paintball mask. This helps your maintain a clear vision on your lens when you use it.

Pump Paintball Guns – Oldies But Goodies
by Michael Stevens on Jan.21, 2010, under Paintball
Ever heard of Pump Paintball Guns? I bet if you’re a paintball enthusiast, you’d immediately identify what a pump paintball gun is. Though, in this modern time, all paintball guns are no longer called by that name but are generally called as paintball markers, its more politically correct term as they say. Actually, the pump paintball gun we used to know is already classified as vintage, one of the first made markers for paintball.
Ever since the day the game of paintball was created, it was also in no doubt that it had also evolved. Be it in terms of how the games are played or the equipments they used. Somehow through time, the rules of the games had changed and the equipments modified. Mostly, the guns or markers were changed and remodeled through time to suit the preferences of the users and also provide a sense of variety for the sport.
A pump paintball gun is arguably the first ever paintball gun made and used for the game. It’s a single-shot at a time type of gun which was initially used during the early days of the sport.
Aside from the pump paintball gun, gamers can use a variety of stock paintball guns, semi-auto paintball guns, and electric paintball guns. These markers vary primarily to the amount of paintball rounds they hold and the speed of shots they release. A Stock-paintball gun can holds 20-40 paintball rounds. A Semi-automatic paintball gun can shoot 20 paintballs per second. And the Electric paintball gun is said to be the fastest among the markers basically because it is electrically triggered
Now, with the presence of the new and remodeled paintball markers or paintball guns, why still use the old Pump Paintball Guns? Actually, today most players of the sport are no longer using this kind of gun whether in professional or amateur divisions. Since Pump Paintball Guns are actually the first made markers for the game, it might have become obsolete through time and no longer be available in common sports shops. But to enthusiasts, collectors, or for those who have playing the game, you may find that they must have own at least one pump paintball gun. It would definitely take great skills for a player to use a pump paintball gun against the modern markers available; being it a single-shot gun, the user of the pump paintball gun takes lesser advantage than those who uses the modern guns in the game. It would hone the skills and techniques of the player that given such disadvantage he or she can still manage to win the game. Also, the difficulty it provides makes it more challenging to the players involve, thus making it one of the reasons why certain individuals opt to use it instead. Aside from that, a game involving the pump paintball gun gives the players a taste of the old times, giving them an idea on how the first games of paintball were played.
Indeed, paintball is one of the far growing sports of the time. Becoming infamous to different countries nowadays, developing various types of guns or markers for the game is quite inevitable. But going back to the olden ways surely won’t hurt and using the old equipments such as the pump paintball gun would actually be a diversion on how the game is usually played. People might even find it enjoyable and more challenging and with that maybe it can be available to stores once again.

How to Get The Best Out of a CO2 Paintball Tank
by Ryan Gert on Jan.21, 2010, under Paintball
Want to get more out of your CO2 tank? In this article I will tell you three ways that can help you get the most out of your tank in terms of performance and life.
Does your CO2 tank have a standard pin valve? If so, you are missing out on a huge improvement called an on/off valve. By installing an on/off valve on your CO2 tank you can screw the tank in your gun and then turn the valve to gas up your gun. When you are done playing, just turn it off.
When you turn off your tank, you can shoot the remaining gas left in the gun out. Shooting out the gas in your paintball gun will make it tons easier to unscrew it. One thing that is annoying about pin valve CO2 tanks is that when you unscrew them it will hiss gas out and may even ruin your o-ring on the tank in the process. Installing an on/off valve will help your o-rings last longer.
Installing an anti-siphon to your paintball tank will help you get the most out of it. The main problem with CO2 is that when it is inside your tank, it can exist in liquid and gas form.
CO2 exists as a liquid and a gas in your tank, and when your gun starts running off of the liquid, its performance will suffer. An anti-siphon kit will help make sure that the gas goes into the gun and not the liquid.
To keep your tank scratch free and in pristine condition, you can buy a neoprene cover to protect it. It will protect it from dings and from normal wear and tear, and can even help it grip your shoulder a little better.
An on/off valve is an o-ring saver, and is convenient to have. You can easily turn your tank on and off when needed. It makes life easier.
For improved consistency, an anti-siphon kit will help your gun use the gas and not the liquid.
Once you have all of that on, protect your tank and keep it looking new with a neoprene cover.

Paintball Is Full Of Excitement
by Gary Garrett on Jan.21, 2010, under Paintball
Do you need something fun to do in your free time? Are you tired of being bored and doing activities that don’t bring you any joy or excitement? Then maybe you should take a look at paintball. In this article I’ll give you a few reasons why I think paintball is the coolest sport.
Many of us grew up playing tag, or dodgeball. You could say that paintball is like these, but a lot more extreme. You are trying to mark your opponents by shooting them with a paintball. It is a simple concept but it is oh so much fun.
Once the game starts, your heart will start racing. Seeing paintballs fly through the air, and hearing them fly by your head is pretty intense. Shooting an opponent with a paintball feels great too. If you don’t leave the game with a smile, you may be a zombie.
People of all sizes, shapes, and ages can have fun playing paintball. You can’t say that for many sports. Usually the players of other sports excel at it if they are a certain size or age. Anyone of any age can play a game of paintball. If you can pull a trigger, and your heart is in good enough shape to handle the excitement, you can play paintball.
One of my favorite parts about this sport is the customization part. You can play with any kind of paintball marker you want (money permitting). There are literally hundreds of different markers to choose from. You can play with a pump, electronic, mechanical, or one that is decked out to look like a replica of a gun. You can customize your gear how you want it.
Paintball is a great sport that is lots of fun to play. While playing you get a rush of excitement and after the game your face should be all smiles. Many of us played tag growing up. This sport can be called an extreme version of tag. Anyone that gets involved in this sport can create and play with their dream marker.
If you are looking for a sport that is extreme in fun and excitement, I suggest you try paintball.
There’s No School Like Old School
by Robby Thompson on Jan.20, 2010, under Paintball
One of the world’s most exciting outdoor participation sports to date is the sport known as paintball. Paintball is a sport that is played, enjoyed, and shared by all the generations. It is a sport that is played in over forty countries by millions of men, women, and children, with varying background. But the one thing in common with all of these people is the love for fun, adventure, and their strong competitive spirits.
Paintball was once upon a time intended to be a game of skill. The skill in handling a firearm, that does not aim to hurt one physically, but possibly just to bruise and ego or two. Paintball is a team battle made up of snipers, using strategy to take out the enemy. It can be related to guerrilla warfare, only with paintballs and not bullets. Unlike the games of today, the pump paintball gun was what the people of the original game used. Pump paintball was the original, and some consider it the best way to play.
Paintball is a sport where skill should be considered as the measure of a player’s mastery in the sport. When using semi-automatic and automatic paintall guns, a paintballer doesn’t really show all of what he is worth. Those rapid-fire paintball guns need not really be aimed, they release a stream of continuous paint balls. Those types of paintball markers as the guns are also called are used and can be used by amatuers, which sometimes can make even a beginner look like a veteran in the paintball world.
When playing the paintball game, if one were to use a pump paintball gun, that person would be able to show his or her real worth in the field of battle. The pump paintball user would have the chance to showcase his or her skills. The player would be forced to aim for targets and not just let balls fly and hope that one of them actually hits a target. While a rapid-fire gun or marker could be used to mark where a target is for a comrade to spot and help take out, the single shot pump paintball gun would force the player to pay close attention to his or her surroundings.
When playing paintball with any of the guns or markers available on the market today, there are a few things that must be taken into consideration. One of these things is that in the field of battle it is important to show as little of the body as possible. Even more so when playing with the single shot pump paintball gun. With that thing the game turns into a sniper battle more than a fight between machine guns. Another important thing to remember when playing with paintballs in to always wear the prescibed protective gear, especially the goggles. If the paint were to ever get into someone’s unprotected eyes, the game wouldn’t be as fun as it was meant to be, or even fun at all.
There are many out in the world today who enjoy playing first person shooter games, or FPS. These games are merely the virtual versions of paintball, these games all have one thing in common. The way they are played, and the basic objective. These things are that they are all basic combinations of tag, hide and seek, and capture the flag.
The Fundamentals of Paintball: How To Have Fun With Paintball
by Ethan O. Tanner on Jan.16, 2010, under Paintball
If you are the form of someone who enjoys action movies and would like to experience the thrill of shooting a person, then you’ll see that playing paintball is the right variety of hobby for you. It is a fun sport that’s also fast-paced as well as exciting that everybody will love playing. It will grant you lots of action and also that adrenaline rush that you always would like to experience.
The great thing about paintball is that it can be played by anyone. Whether you are a girl or a boy, you will be able to play this action game. In fact, even grandma and grandpa can join in the fun of this great sport. It is a universal action game that can be enjoyed by all ages. So, how do you actually play the game? Basically, paintball is done in open fields. However, it can also be played inside large arenas and even inside buildings with two teams competing. Each person will have an air gun or a paintball gun or paintball marker.

The basic paintball equipments are paintballs, which are spherical containers that are as large as marbles. Each of the balls contains a water based paint and a semi hard rubber shell that breaks easily after hitting an object. This is generally the ammunition for the paintball gun. One other basic equipment is the paintball gun that is used to launch the paintball. It is generally powered by compressed air which launches the paintball. The body of the paintball gun is made of aluminum alloy that has a container that is used to hold the paintballs.
In paintball, you also need to have protection for your eyes as well as for your body. You need to remember that the paintball is propelled at high speeds and when it hits, it will hit hard. It can even hurt or sting a bit if it hits your bare skin. The eye protection equipment uses acrylic plastic lens and a rubber strap. For protecting the face, you will need a mask. This covers the front of your face as well as your ears.
Belt packs are also considered to be essential as it will be able to let you hold more accessories without the hassle. The sight is also considered by many as crucial as it will help you aim more precisely. In paintball, there are certain rules that you require to follow. The first is that you should always keep your protective gears on at all times during the game. Holding off the goggles or the mask are a big no-no in the game. Knowing the limitations of the gun is also essential in playing the game. Typically, shooting at a point blank range is a no-no. If you do catch your opponent at this range, you just have to point the gun at them and tap them on the shoulder or tell them that you marked them.
You need to remember that this is an honesty game. If you get hit, just play dead or exit the game. While the shooter did not know you got hit because of the distance, you have to be honest about it. Occasionally, you will not know if you got hit or not due to the chaos of the fire fight. If these happens, do not just quit yet and let the referee determine if you found hit or not. The final rule of the game is to delight it and have fun playing it. These are the basics of paintball. Remember these tips and you will be able to be sure that you can have more fun playing the game with your friends and family.
