Paintball is the ultimate for folks looking to have a good time while playing war in a safe environment. In order to take on paintball you’ll need some fundamentals like a paintball marker and ammo. Other equipment is also needed if you don’t want to have any accidents at the paintball playing area. No doubt about it, paintball is safe but it can also be dangerous if you’re not careful out there. Paintballs are relatively harmless until they hit you in the eye and that’s why you need to wear protective gear over your eyes. Not only will you virtually extinguish the threat of injury by wearing the right equipment but you’ll also have a lot more fun knowing that you’re safe and you can relax and just enjoy the excitement and thrill of paintball. Check out the following list of necessities for the hobby of paintball.

Paintball Mask.If you’re sensitive to getting hit in the face it would definitely be a good idea to wear a mask to avoid getting hit in the face by a paintball which actually does sting quite a bit. A good portion of injuries on paintball fields occur because someone got hit in the face with a paintball. Don’t let that be you. Wear a mask. Believe me the last thing you want is a huge welt on your face from a paintball.

Paintball Goggles. You’re a fool if you play paintball and you don’t wear something to protect your eyes. Whether or not the paintball battleground requires you to wear protective eye equipment you should wear some to avoid serious eye injury.Another concern for your eyes is paint splashing intop your eyes from popping paintballs. A very high percentage of the paint used in paintballs is non-toxic but that doesn’t mean it won’t burn and sting the bajeezus out of your eyes. All you have to do is wear goggles and you’re good to go.

Paintball gun. A paintball marker is necessary to play paintball and in paintball they are referred to as markers. If you want to give yourself an advantage on the paintball battleground you can do so by upgrading your paintball marker. A paintball gun that is faster and more accurate will make you a better player. Paintball guns come in all manner of shapes and varieties and they all come with their different strengths and weaknesses. It’s a good idea to rent a paintball gun your first time out so you can see for yourself how they work and whether or not you like paintball enough to buy a paintball gun.

Paintballs. Paintballs are the ammunition that we use in the sport of paintball. Really the only thing you need to check on before picking up some paintballs is that you’re getting the right size paintballs. The wrong size paintballs will not shoot out correctly and your aim will be horrible. You can determine the right size paintball for you paintball gun by checking the size of the barrel on your gun.

Hopper. The hopper is the thing that you load your paintballs into. The most important thing with a hopper is that it be easy to load painballs into and out of. Most hoppers are suitable for most paintball guns but some of the faster markers will require electronic hoppers.

Air. Air is used in a paintball gun to shoot the paintballs when you pull the trigger. When it comes to your air supply you have two choices. In paintball you can use nitrogen or C02 as your air supply.Nitrogen is what you want to use if you’re looking for high performance but most beginners use C02 because it’s cheaper and still very effective.

Equipment And Other gear.Maintaining a paintball gun is pretty simple with the use of a squeegee and some oil to keep things clean and lubricated. Maintaining your paintball gtun will not only make it last longer but it will also give you an advantage on the paintball playing area. If you plan on diving and crawling and really getting into the combat then it is recommended you wear some elbow and knee pads .If you know you’re going to be on the ground then the smart thing to do is protect you knees and elbows. And finally it’s a good idea to take a belt or pack to carry extra paintballs on the playing field with you. rationing paintballs is a horrible way to spend the afternoon so make sure it doesn’t happen to you.

Paintball is a ton of fun and it is absolutely thrilling and it is gives you a good idea of what combat is like without all the danger. Renting all of your paintball equipment is a good idea if you’re new to paintball as it can save you a lot of cash. Checking ahead with your local paintball facility to assure that they have all the equipment you need is a good idea. Above all, make sure you wear the appropriate protective equipment on the field if you want to guarantee yourself a good time.

The World of Paintball

by Rabbit on Mar.06, 2010, under paintball guns

Only 30-some-odd years old, the sport of paintball continues to grow in size and complexity. The level of play is increasing as well, turning a one-time hobby into a professional sport. The most recent culmination of this trend is the PSP World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida, where teams strap on their paintball masks, load their guns and head into battle.

The venues can be quite diverse. A majority of participants attend commercial locations. These may range from a forested area. Using the natural surroundings as obstacles, to entire man-made courses. There things like inflatable bunkers and tents for players to maneuver around in make it easy for the field owners to redesign the course to fit customer needs.

Although it may seem like a free-for-all, there are rules to the game. As with the venues, the specifics may vary, but overall the point is for each team to protect a certain area or object, while attacking the other teams. Similar to the rules of capture the flag, the game requires each team to reach the other's protected area or obtain the object to win the game. Since there is no time limit, the game can last from a few minutes to hours on end.

From artillery to protection, there is an array of paintball gear to choose from. The industry for paintball guns, also called paintball markers, continues to grow, offering weapons in all shapes and sizes, from handguns to grenade launchers. The most important items in paintball gear are the paintball masks. These have gotten fairly high tech, with most resembling high-speed motorcycle helmets. Chest protectors, gloves, and knee pads all offer protection as well, from the sting of direct hits.

Many tactics are involved in being a successful player. Although serious competitors may have subtle strategies, the first-timer can stay alive by following a few simple tips. First is the technique of “hit and run.” Many players feel inclined to act like Rambo and barrage the opponent with paintballs. More often than not, however, they will end up being shot from the prolonged exposure. Another, useful tip is to buddy up with a partner. This allows each player to cover the other and ambush unsuspecting opponents.

Although many have yet to try it, those who do participate in a paintball match tend to get hooked. In 2009, the National Professional Paintball League was founded, making the activity a legitimate professional sport. While still quite new, it will be interesting to see how the game grows and matures in the years to come.

Paintball Grenade

by Rabbit on Mar.01, 2010, under paintball guns

Real Action Paintball is proud to be your partner in battlefield simulation and creative defensive strategies. When you need dirty deeds done in style, you need our full line of compressed air powered simulated mines and booby trap-ready grenades. These special-purpose tools will eliminate your opponents in altogether new ways that will leave them nervous to get anywhere near your end of the field.

The RAP4 Pressure Activated Landmine is a reusable, compressed air powered, simulated landmine. A player stepping anywhere on the four inch diameter pressure plate will release the onboard charge of compressed air into a powder tray, blowing smoke simulation powder around their legs with a dramatic report. You can recess the mine an inch into the ground so it lies flat, and obscure it with a few leaves, or deploy it hastily in the corner of a bunker where they’re likely to stick their foot.

The reusable M80 Landmine comes standard with smoke simulation powder, and optional burst tubes to add a really loud bang when this mine is detonated. Completely safe and paintball-compliant, they are designed to be buried shallow, and then set off with pressure from feet, vehicles, or objects being moved against them (like closing a door or moving an obstacle out of the way). The M80 is available at two price points, by size and features, to exactly meet your needs.

When you need to cover a large area with a single mine, or a series of them, check out RAP4’s M18A1 Claymore Mine. The M18A1 shoots 200 6mm airsoft BBs at a time, covering up to twenty meters upon “detonation”…and a single remote can trigger up to four mines individually.

When you need to rig a tripwire to cover a doorway, detonate a charge when a prop is removed, or otherwise surprise your opponents, look into the RAP4 Hand Grenade.

The RAP4 Hand Grenade is as real as you can get to a pineapple grenade, but completely safe and paintball-compliant. Charge it with the Thunder Grenade charger or the Mine Charger with 12gram Adapter, install the explosion-simulation powder disk, make sure the safety pin is holding the spoon down, and you’re ready to install the grenade in a sneaky location. Run a tripwire from the pin to a permanent anchor, and when it’s pulled, the pin comes out, the spoon flips up, and boom – they’re eliminated. You can adjust two internal pressure screws to make the delay from activation to detonation instantaneous, or several seconds long if you intend to let a room fill with opponents before eliminating them all at once.

RAP4 also carries the Mastermine, a refillable, reusable mine that sprays six ounces of liquid paint over a large section of trail – or a large room – to eliminate anyone who gets marked with even a drop. Rigged with a tripwire, this is a great option for games that require mines to leave a mark on opponents rather than merely simulating an explosion in their vicinity.

Whatever your scenario, RAP4 has a mine, booby trap, and grenade option just ready to be incorporated into your defensive scheme…

…and to keep your opponents guessing every time they reach for a prop.

Real Action Paintball – At Fort Hunter Liggett!

Real Action Paintball is proud to supply the latest in force-on-force training equipment to the US Army soldiers who train at Fort Hunter Liggett in central California. Military personnel use RAP4 products in actual combat training, where they engage character actors and static targets, dynamic OpFor, and learn to detect IEDs. RAP4 paintball guns enable them to conduct safe training in tactics and protocol on facilities that are not designed for normal small arms fire.

Paintball guns in the T68 series are currently being used by many military and law enforcement units, as the T68 perfectly replicates the ergonomics, point of aim, and controls of the M16 family of small arms. The T68 paintball guns shoot marking paintballs, which cost far less than firearm ammunition and are considerably safer to shoot indoors and in dynamic scenarios. Other special training rounds for the T68 paintball guns feature different fills for different facilities: pure water for when you can’t leave splats behind, and powder when you need visual confirmation of hits but have to keep the mess to a minimum. The T68 paintball guns have proven reliable, durable, and innovative enough to win the prestigious Law Enforcement Technology 2009 “Innovation Award.”

Innovative military combat training has never been so important. With deployment into hostile territories where they encounter a new kind of foe, military personnel of all specialties are now receiving life-saving combat training. The RAP4 T68 paintball guns make that training as real as it gets, while keeping operating costs down and allowing trainers to use an unprecedented variety of facilities and materials in their drills. There is nothing like the kinetic reinforcement of being hit with a paintball round to reinforce critical lessons, and there is no experience quite like taking fire to prepare soldiers for the rigors of real combat.

Soldiers are engaging threats at pointblank range in theater, as they clear buildings and must sort in a moment between threats and civilians. Much of modern combat occurs in cities and complicated urban environments, where our soldiers are vulnerable to threats from all angles. Training for building entry and searches requires elaborate structures be built that can withstand small arms fire while replicating real world dwellings…but when units train with the T68 paintball markers, they don’t have to worry about stopping bullets – just paintballs. This allows facility designers significantly more freedom in creating scenarios and training structures, and affords a level of trainee safety unavailable with duty arms.

RAP4 is proud to assist our soldiers in their CQB training at Fort Hunter Liggett, and around the world, by providing equipment and resources that get them ready to ship out. Real Action Paintball – as real as it gets!
